Nvidia has re-released the RTX 2060. It still had the same Turing architecture we’ve come to know and love since it was first released back in 2017. That also may have knock-on effects for its potential as a cryptocurrency mining card, as the only review going around the web for this new card suggests its hash rate will outpace the RTX 3060.
The main thing to note here is that the RTX 3060 has been kitted out to measure lower hash rates for mining. If the card detects certain mining algorithms, it will operate at a limited speed.
Theres no such mining limiter on the RTX 2060 12GB, according to pcmarket’s review and that means that the card will be capable of running up to 31.65 MH/s in testing. Crucially, that puts it ahead of the RTX 3060 at 22.17 MH/s, while consuming less power.
It looks like there is no source or confirmation of recommended retail price. That may ultimately be up to the card distributers, which make this resurrected 20-series chip a very off launch indeed…It certainly points more toward a card aimed at miners..
